Here’s a very nice splash page from RAWHIDE KID #20, from the Pre-Hero era right before FANTASTIC FOUR #1. Dick Ayers does a nice job in using textures and spotted blacks to focus and refine jack Kirby’s image, and to get across a sense of the dusty plains.

There’s a note in Stan Lee’s handwriting at the bottom that says in part:

END! IT IS THE END OF A THREE DAY AND A THREE NIGHT CHASE! A CHASE IN WHICH THE RAWHIDE KID,(words obscurred) MANAGED

Seems to be Stan composing his script, given that it’s very close to the lettered opening caption.
